Alexa Bleth tied her season low of 80 on Sunday and SBCC is in fourth place after the first round of the Southern Cal Regional women's golf tournament at the Alisal River Course in Solvang.
Bleth, a freshman from Novato, is tied for eighth in the 50-player field. Corina Garcia shot 84 and is tied for 18th while Stephanie Farouze and Lauren Calvin are tied for 21st at 85. Juliet Parsons (bottom photo) turned in an 88 for her second-best score of the year.
The Vaqueros are seeking their fourth straight Regional title but they'll be hard-pressed to catch WSC champion Canyons. The Cougars broke 300 for the third time this year, shooting 298 to take a 31-stroke lead over Desert and Saddleback (329). The Vaqueros are fourth with 334 strokes and Mt. SAC is fifth at 355.
The top four teams in the nine-school field will advance to the State Championships on Sunday and Monday at Morro Bay GC.
Jessie Lin of Canyons was the medalist at 3-under 69. Haruka Koda (Canyons) and Brittney Do (Saddleback) are tied for second at 72.
The final round will be played Monday, starting at 8:30 a.m.
