SBCC scored twice in the fifth minute on Friday the 13th and went on to post a 2-1 women's soccer win at Ventura.

It was the final regular-season game for the Vaqueros (9-5-5, 4-2-4 WSC North), who are expecting a bid to the Southern Cal Regional playoffs. SBCC finished third in conference behind co-champs Moorpark and L.A. Pierce (7-0-3).

Marissa Stone scored a goal in her third straight game, taking a pass from Lena Gustafsson and finding the net at the 4:10 mark. Thirty-eight seconds later, Baylee Vincent fed Gustafsson and she chipped a 25-yard shot over the goalie for a 2-0 lead after five minutes.

Ventura (5-13-2, 4-6-0) scored in the 60th minute when the Vaqueros couldn't defend a cross in the box.

Blayne Shoffit received a second yellow card in the 63rd minute and got a red card, leaving the Vaqueros with 10 players for the last 27 minutes.

"Alex Camarillo made two good saves and we still created chances despite being down a player," said coach John Sisterson.

Santa Barbara is currently No. 12 in the Southern Cal RPI ratings and 18 teams make the playoffs. The Vaqueros will find out who they play on Tuesday.
