Kaitlyn Saperstein tallied a pair of first-half goals on Friday night and SBCC went on to blank Cuesta 3-0 in a WSC North women's soccer game at La Playa Stadium.

Saperstein chipped the ball over the goalie and into the net in the 12th minute, then scored on a corner kick by Chloe Montano in the 33rd minute. Katherine Sheehy was pulled down in the box in the 57th minute and Montano converted her third penalty kick of the year and seventh goal.

The Vaqueros (9-4, 3-1) improved to 5-0 at home this season. Santa Barbara outshot the visitors 19-5, including 9-3 in shots on goal.

Goalie Alejandra Camarillo (8-3) made three saves for her fourth shutout.

"We played very, very well in the first half when we passed it around and looked dangerous," noted SBCC coach John Sisterson. "Kaitlyn, Chloe and Alexa Benitez linked up quite well in the midfield. It was an all-around good performance."

The Vaqueros travel to Moorpark on Tuesday for a WSC game at 3 p.m.
