Sophomore forward Josefine Von Der Burg scored a goal in each half on Tuesday afternoon, leading SBCC to a 3-0 women's soccer shutout of Cuesta in San Luis Obispo.

It was the seventh shutout of the year for the Vaqueros (11-6-1, 5-3-1 WSC North) and their second straight 3-0 triumph over Cuesta. The Cougars fell to 3-12-4 and 1-7-1.

The Vaqueros are third in conference and No. 15 in the Southern Cal Power Points, which would put them into next week's 18-team Southern Cal Regional playoffs.

Von Der Burg scored in the 14th minute on an assist from Chloe Montaño. In the 35th minute, Montano scored her eighth goal on a pass from Katherine Sheehy.

Von Der Burg struck again in the 67th minute with Kaitlyn Saperstein providing the assist. Von Der Burg is No. 5 on the WSC scoring chart with 14 goals.

The Vaqueros took 25 shots in the game with 20 on-goal.

"We played really well considering it's always tough to play at Cuesta," said assistant coach Goffin Boyoko. "We took care of business early. Josefine showed great confidence in front of the goal. When she got the ball, you knew it was going in."

The Vaqueros will host first-place Moorpark (8-0-1) on Friday in their regular-season finale at 7 p.m.
