Chloe Montano, Katherine Sheehy and Alexa Benitez earned first-team All-WSC North women's soccer honors and seven Vaqueros were named to the team.

Montano, a freshman midfielder from Calabasas, was the second-leading scorer for the Vaqueros (15-6-1), who finished third in the WSC North at 6-3-1, then won three playoff games to advance to Saturday's Southern Cal Regional finals at Santiago Canyon. Montano has nine goals and 14 assists for 32 points.

The winner of Saturday's 2 p.m. game between the 14th-seeded Vaqueros and second-seeded Hawks (21-0-1) will move into the State Final 4 on Dec. 2 and 4 at the Ventura College Sportsplex. SBCC is seeking its first trip to the State Championships.

Sheehy, a 5-7 freshman forward from Pasadena, scored nine goals and assisted on nine others. Benetiz, a freshman midfielder from Carpinteria High, helped control the middle of the field and create scoring situations. She was one of two players to start all 22 games, along with Sheehy.

The Vaqueros have won five in a row, outscoring their opponents 13-2. They handed WSC co-champion Moorpark its only conference loss 2-1 on Nov. 11, then beat No. 19 Citrus 4-0, No. 3 Canyons 1-0 and No. 6 Ventura 3-1 in the So Cal playoffs.

Josefine Von Der Burg, a sophomore forward from Sweden, and Fee Van Deelan, a freshman midfielder from Hamburg, Germany, were second-team choices. Von Der Burg leads the team in scoring with 39 points (18 goals, 3 assists) and has six games with two or more goals. She's also scored four game-winning goals.

Sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Saperstein (5 goals, 6 assists) and sophomore goalie Alejandra Camarillo (0.90 goals against, 8 shutouts) were honorable mention.
