Lourdes Gilbert has been named Athlete of the Week by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table.
The freshman from St. Bonaventure High scored two goals in a four-minute span of the first half on Friday night, leading the No. 1-ranked Vaqueros to a 4-0 win over Antelope Valley in their Southern Cal Regional playoff opener.
Lourdes scored at 29:22 and 32:17. She has six goals and six assists with three game-winning goals.
SBCC is 18-0-1 with 18 straight wins and 11 straight shutouts. Santa Barbara is 9-0 at home and has outscored its opponents 33-0. The Vaqueros have the best defense in the state, allowing just three goals in 19 games.
The top-seeded Vaqueros will host No. 8 Orange Coast (12-5-5) in a second-round playoff game on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Orange Coast tied Santa Monica 1-1 on Friday, then won on penalty kicks, 3-2.
The SBCC men's soccer team is also unbeaten (16-0-4). The third-seeded Vaqueros will host #11 Oxnard on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
