Mekaylla White was selected as the Athlete of the Week on Monday during the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table's press luncheon at Harry's Plaza Café.

The award is given to the top female performer in all sports from the local high schools, SBCC, UCSB and Westmont.

White, a freshman forward from Folsom, had two hat tricks in four days in pair of runaway wins over Oxnard (6-0) and Moorpark (5-0). In Friday's win over Moorpark, she scored three goals in a 21-minute span of the first half.

White has four hat tricks in her last eight games. She's scored seven times in the last three games, raising her season total to 18 goals in 19 games. She leads the WSC North in goals and is 13th in the state.

The Vaqueros (12-6-3, 9-1-2) won their third straight WSC North championship. They've won four in a row (by a combined 15-1) and are unbeaten in their last 10 (8-0-2).

The Southern Cal Regional pairings will be announced on Tuesday and the Vaqueros are expecting to be at home for the first round on Saturday.
