SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Zoe Minnery scored a hat trick as No. 15 Santa Barbara City College earned a 5-0 win over Allan Hancock College at La Playa Stadium on Tuesday.
SBCC took control early in the match, scoring twice in the first half. Zoe Minnery opened the scoring at 18 minutes with an assist from Olivia Del Castillo and Cara Christopherson, followed quickly by Christopherson herself at 20 minutes, assisted by Minnery.
The Vaqueros continued their offensive pressure in the second half, with Minnery scoring again at 55 minutes and Christopherson adding another at 66 minutes. Lauren Keledjian also contributed with an assist on Minnery's third goal, rounding out a complete team performance.
Minnery is now the fifth-leading goal scorer in the 3C2A with 14 goals in 15 games.
Goalkeeper Natalie Gonzalez kept a clean sheet as the SBCC defense successfully limited Allan Hancock's scoring chances. She ranks fourth in the WSC in goals against average.
The victory improved SBCC's record to 10-4-2 overall and 5-0-2 in the WSC North, keeping the Vaqueros at the top of the conference standings.
