Coach Murphy enters enters his second season at SBCC after helping the 2017 men's and women's soccer teams to their best combined seasons in school history.

In 2017, the Vaquero women had their best season ever, winning the WSC North with an 8-0 record, reeling off 21 straight wins and finishing second in the state with a 21-1-1 record. They outscored their opponents 77-6 and were ranked No. 3 in the final national poll. The men's team captured the WSC North title with a 9-0-1 record. They went unbeaten in their first 21 games (17-0-4) and finished fifth in the state with a 17-1-4 mark.

Before arriving at SBCC as a coach, Murphy played for SBCC and UCSB and completed his degree in Political Science with an emphasis on International Affairs. Upon graduation from UCSB, Coach Murphy began a Graduate Assistant position at CCAA Powerhouse CSU San Bernardino where he completed his M.A. in National Security Policy.

Dylan is originally from Newcastle, Australia, and played his youth football at the Newcastle Jets Football Club with the U21's before moving to the United States in 2012.
