Vaqueros stretch lead on Day 2 of WSC Championships

Rachelle Visser captured the 400 IM on Friday and SBCC stretched its lead on Day 2 of the WSC Women's Swimming Championships at the Ventura Aquatic Center.

Visser was clocked in 4:34.30 and Katherine Warren took second in 4:52.23. Alaina Chela was second in the 100 butterfly in a personal-best 59.90 and Sarah Westmoreland was fourth.

The Vaqueros are first in the 10-team competition with 366 points. Cuesta is second at 277, followed by Ventura (260) and Canyons (246).

Santa Barbara won the 200 medley relay in 1:52.73, missing the school record by 0.14 seconds. That team consisted of Autumn Lovett, Ashley Macedo, Chela and Visser.

The Vaqueros were second in the 800 free relay in 8:24.30. Warren was third when she dove in for her anchor leg and swam a PR of 1:59.87 to secure second place.

The third and final day will be Saturday with the prelims at 9:30 a.m. and the finals at 4 p.m.
