SBCC has selected Trish Salvatore as its new women's diving coach and the Vaqueros are looking for divers to compete in the first year of the program in the spring of 2017.
Salvatore is a top Masters diver and a member of USA Diving. She's the head dive coach at Santa Barbara High and previously coached at St. Mary's High in Stockton and Turlock High.
"We're excited to add the diving portion of the Women's Swimming and Diving team," said third-year Vaquero swim and water polo coach Chuckie Roth. "With the success of the swimming and water polo programs, we felt it would be a natural addition to the Aquatics Program.
"We are looking to add five female divers to the program. We're looking for any students with diving or gymnastic experience. The divers will compete in three Western State Conference meets, two invitationals and Conference and State Championships."
The Vaqueros have won two straight WSC Water Polo and Swimming titles and placed fourth in the State Swimming & Diving championships last spring with a 41-1 dual-meet record.
Practice will start immediately for the divers and be held at Santa Barbara or San Marcos High Schools.
