SBCC registered 16 All-American marks in women's swimming & diving in 2017. The top 16 times in each event receive All-American status from the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA).
All five relays placed in the top 12, led by the 200 free relay (3rd), 800 free relay (4th) and 400 free relay (5th). The 200 free relay set a new school record of 1:38.93 and the 800 free relay broke last year's school mark by .12 of a second (7:58.67).
The 200 free relay members were Alex Humann, Mackenzie Richards, Addison Seale and Reese Ellestad.
Seale, the WSC Swimmer of the Year in 2016 and the WSC Water Polo Player of the Year in Fall 2016, led the Vaqueros with nine All-American times (4 individual, 5 relays). Her top time came in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:08.46 that was good for No. 8 in the state and No. 2 on SBCC's all-time list.
Ellestad and Humann were six-time All-Americans (two individual, four relays) and Richards posted five All-American relay times.
Gina Jacobson was No. 1 in the state after winning the State title in 1-meter diving and setting a state record with 246.85 points. She was also third in 3-meter diving in the Vaqueros' first year of diving competition.
The Vaqueros won their third straight WSC title in 2017 and finished fourth in the state for the second straight year.

SBCC sets 15 National All-American marks
Eight Vaquero swimmers recorded 15 national All-American times in 2017, topped by Addison Seale with nine (4 individual, 5 relays), Reese Ellestad with six and Alex Humann and Mackenzie Richards with five apiece.
The national All-American marks are the top 16 times or marks from the CCCAA and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
The best Vaquero efforts were the 200 free relay (4th in the nation), the 400 free relay and 800 free relay (both No. 6). All five relays placed in the top 16 among two-year schools nationally.
Seale was 11th in the 200 IM, 12th in the 100 breast and 14th in the 200 free and 200 breast. Ellestad had the highest placing with a 9th in the 100 free and 12th in the 50 free. Humann was 12th in the 200 free.
Gina Jacobson was 8th in 3-meter diving and 9th in 1-meter while Ashley Dettmann was 11th in 1-meter diving.
