SBCC went to the Western State Conference (WSC) Swim & Dive Championships knowing they had trained for some great swims, and they are having the results to prove it.
The Vaqueros (491) are in the lead by 49 points over second place, Santa Monica College (442), after Friday's competition.
Leading the way for SBCC is freshman phenom Isabella Urlando, from C.K. McClatchy High School in Sacramento. Isabella broke the SBCC and WSC records in the 100 Butterfly with a 55.34, the second fastest time in the state this year. In the 100 Backstroke, she now also owns both the SBCC and WSC records after an individual swim of 54.91 and a sizzling relay lead split of 54.86.
Coach Roth says, "We had a great day of improvement with 98% best times. We are swimming well and having fun. This is a very special group of young women."
