LA MIRADA, CA – Santa Barbara City College's divers on the Women's Swimming & Diving team competed at the SoCal Championships this weekend at Biola University.

"The team had a solid performance in cold conditions and is well positioned to work hard in the coming weeks to perfect their lists for state championships," diving coach Michael Martz said.

Morgan Cederholm earned the title of conference champion in both events, receiving the highest score of all WSC participants in 1-meter (191.85) and 3-meter Diving (160.25). Her results give her a coveted spot at the state competition, beginning May 2.

"Today's conditions were challenging with the rough weather and the extensive lineup of divers," Cederholm said. 46 total dives took place between the two events. "Yet, the spirit of everyone was undeniable as we all rallied together, encouraging and supporting one another. I'm excited to come back even stronger for state championships!"

Julia Salomone has also made remarkable strides in her diving career, finishing 26th—a testament to her dedication and significant improvement.

"[Julia's] ability to be part of the championship meet is indeed an accomplishment to be celebrated," head coach Chuckie Roth said. "Both Morgan and Julia have shown commendable commitment and accomplishment in their sport."

The Swim team will compete at the WSC Championships this coming Thursday-Saturday at the Ventura Aquatic Center. With a win, the Vaqueros would make it a perfect 9 for 9, being crowned conference champions in every season since the program's inception.
