Sequoias took two of three doubles points on Saturday, then went 5-1 in singles to hand SBCC a 7-2 loss in the Vaqueros' women's tennis home opener at Pershing Park.
Teresa Downey got both points for the Vaqueros (0-2), beating Morgan Cohen 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and teaming with Monica Kunz to win the No. 1 doubles set, 8-1.
The Vaqueros host Santa Monica in their WSC opener on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
