Santa Monica, the WSC leader at 5-0, was too deep for SBCC on Tuesday, handing the visiting Vaqueros an 8-1 women's tennis loss at Ocean View Park.
Teresa Downey continued to shine at No. 1 singles for the Vaqueros (2-6, 2-4), beating Tsuda Kaori 6-2, 6-4 to improve to 6-1.
"They tried a new No. 1 against Teresa but she continues to dominate in WSC play," said coach Lance Kronberg.
SBCC will host Ventura on Thursday at 2 p.m.
