Maddie Seeds captured her singles and doubles matches on Tuesday, losing only two out of 22 games, and SBCC dominated Long Beach City 9-0 in a nonconference women's tennis match at Long Beach.
Seeds, the only sophomore on the team, beat Mimi Mercado 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Lesly Zapata De Lira to win the No. 1 doubles 8-1. The Vaqueros (2-1) went 24-1 in games while winning the three doubles sets.
Julianna Adelman, Gabrielle Goss, Kassandra Ortiz and Zapata De Lira were also double winners. Ortiz and Zapata De Lira blanked their opponents at No. 5 and 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
The Vaqueros will play seven of their first eight matches on the road and six of their last eight at home. They return to action on Thursday, Feb. 11 at Cypress.
