SBCC made the Southern Cal Regional women's tennis team playoffs for the second straight year and they'll face a familiar opponent in No. 1 Cerritos. The Falcons beat the Vaqueros in last year's opening round of the playoffs, 5-2.

Santa Barbara was seeded No. 7 this year but had to switch with No. 8 Grossmont, so the Vaqueros wouldn't face their WSC rival, Glendale, in the first round. SBCC will travel to Cerritos on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Cerritos is 21-1 and has won 14 straight matches. They claimed the South Coast Conference title with a perfect 12-0 record. The Vaqueros went 11-3 this year and finished second in the WSC at 8-2 under first-year head coach Randy Moharram.

"We've had a great season and are well represented in the Ojai (eight Vaqueros qualified for the State Tournament)," said Moharram. "The team set a goal at the beginning of the season to make the playoffs and it's very gratifying to accomplish that."

The Vaqueros, led by Maddie Seeds, Tyler Bunderson, Julianna Adelman and Kassandra Ortiz, are making their second straight trip to the So Cal Regional and fifth in the last seven years.
