Vaqueros blank Marauders 9-0 for third straight win

SBCC dominated the first four singles on Tuesday on the way to a 9-0 WSC women's tennis victory over visiting Antelope Valley.

The Vaqueros (5-2, 2-2) won their third straight match. AVC is 1-6 and 1-5.

Brenna Casey, Paige Jensen, Josephine Pulver and Natasha Fleischer swept their singles matches, winning 48 games and losing just eight. Casey beat Karlie Heckenliable 6-2, 6-0 for her first win of the year. Fleischer, a freshman from Santa Barbara High, won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles in her season debut.

The Marauders forfeited the last two singles and the No. 3 doubles because they only have four players.

The Vaqueros host Santa Monica on Thursday at 2 p.m.
