Santa Barbara women's tennis turned in another dominating performance as the Vaqueros topped College of the Canyons, 9-0 in a matchup of Western State Conference North foes at Pershing Park.
SBCC (11-3, 9-1 WSC Norrth) jumped out to a 6-0 lead on the strength of a sweep through singles, with the only close match coming at third singles. Josephine Pulver won 7-5, 6-1 at third singles while Katelyn Peyvandi and Gabrielle Goss won easily at first and second singles.
Pia Valtierra, Hanna Pesniak and Madison Mitchell each won 6-0/6-0 in fourth through sixth singles.
In doubles, the Vaqueros were just as dominant, winning 8-2, 8-0 and 8-1.
SBCC has now won five of their last six matches and stands in second place in the WSC North, three games ahead of third place Ventura. Glendale still remains the only undefeated team in WSC North play, sitting in first with a 9-0 record in conference.
The Vaqueros will be back on the courts next Tuesday when they travel to Victor Valley for a 2:00 p.m. start.
