Katelyn Peyvandi and Gabrielle Goss dropped a tight doubles match on Friday afternoon in the Round of 32 at the State Championships, hosted by the Ojai Tournament.
The Vaquero duo was seeded 12th in the 80-team draw. Sara Le Boulenge/Jo Ann Taylor of Orange Coast rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 10-6 tiebreaker win at Buena High in Ventura.
Another SBCC team – Josephine Pulver and Pia Valtierra – came up short in their match at Ventura College. They lost 6-2, 6-2 to No. 11 Diviana Bravo and Itzi Torres of state champion Cerritos.
