Vaqueros get back on the winning track, 7-2

SBCC went 2-1 in doubles on Tuesday, then won five of six singles matches to knock off visiting Santa Monica 7-2 in a WSC women's tennis match.

The Vaqueros are 11-2 on the season, 9-0 in conference and unbeaten in five matches at Pershing Park.

Joica Buyse, Anya Nicolaides and Victoria Dafos all won in straight sets at Nos. 2, 3 and 4 singles. Buyse trailed 5-4 in the first set, then took three straight games to win 7-5. She also won the second set 6-3.

The Vaqueros won the last two singles and the No. 3 doubles by default.

SBCC will travel to Santa Clarita for a key WSC match with second-place Canyons (8-1) on Thursday at 2 p.m.
