SBCC rolled to its 12th straight victory on Saturday with a 9-0 sweep of San Diego City at Pershing Park.

The Vaqueros (12-1) posted their second straight shutout and third in four matches. The Knights (0-9) only have four players on their roster, so they defaulted the No. 3 doubles and No. 5 and 6 singles, giving the Vaqueros a 3-0 lead before any tennis was played.

Santa Barbara has won 103 individual matches this year and only lost 13.

"We played strong as a team and won the four singles in straight sets," said coach Christina Klein. "At No. 1 doubles, Jamaica and Joica Buyse won 8-0. In singles, Ashley Allen and Sydney Paillon responded well to moving up a few positions to play at the No. 3 and 4 spots."

Allen won her match 6-1, 6-1 and Paillon downed Leilani Uyeda at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-2.

The Vaqueros will play four of their last five on the road, starting Tuesday with a WSC match at Santa Monica at 1 p.m.
