Bruhin is double winner at Moorpark Open

Shoelle Bruhin picked up two wins in the 200 and 400 meters on Friday to lead the SBCC women's track team at the Moorpark Open.

Bruhin, a freshman from Switzerland, topped the 200 field in 26.59 and ran 59.47 to win the 400 by 3.25 seconds in windy conditions.

Isabella Molony had a strong performance, winning the triple jump (10.04m, 32-11.25) and contributing to the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Elisa Poeyry was a close second in the triple jump, just .02 meters behind Molony with a leap of 10.02. Christy Chavira placed third in the 800 and 1500.

"The girls have a tight bond and are improving each week," said coach Scott Santella. "I expect them to continue to improve as we move forward into championship season."

The Vaqueros will compete in the Westmont Collegiate Classic on Saturday, March 23 at 11 a.m.
