SBCC swept past San Diego Mesa 3-0 on Friday in the opening round of the eight-team L.A. Pierce Brahma Invitational women's volleyball tournament in Woodland Hills.
Katelynn Womack led the 10th-ranked Vaqueros (6-4) with 13 kills, three blocks and a .370 hitting percentage. Alissa La Rocca added four kills and Madelon Leiphardt had 26 assists and seven digs.
No. 17 Mesa fell to 5-3.
The Vaqueros will take on No. 8 Golden West (7-0) in Saturday's semifinals at 1:30 p.m. Moorpark will battle Pierce in the other semifinal.
