Katelyn Womack had 11 kills and a .455 hitting percentage on Friday night as SBCC swept past Ventura 25-11, 25-14, 25-20 in a WSC North women's volleyball match. Womack has reached double-digit kills in 13 of 17 matches this year, including the last 11 in a row.

Taylor Badois added 11 kills and hit .450 for the Vaqueros, who are ranked No. 8 in the state and No. 6 in Southern Cal. It was the ninth straight win for Santa Barbara and kept the Vaqueros perfect in WSC action (13-4, 4-0).

No. 25 Ventura (2-3, 8-7) moved into the state Top 25 for the first time since 2007 after a big upset of L.A. Pierce. The Pirates took a step back, however, with losses this week to Moorpark and SBCC.

Eryn Young had 10 digs and Womack and Madelon Leiphardt added five apiece. Leiphardt, a sophomore setter, handed out 21 assists. Alexandra Tuleja had a season-high four aces.

"We jumped ahead 18-9 in each of the first two sets," said assistant coach Lisa Gera. "We had a great week of practice and it showed tonight."

The Vaqueros will host L.A. Mission on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
