Pasadena upends No. 4 Vaqueros in Pierce Invitational

Pasadena overcame a first-set loss to upset No. 4 SBCC on Friday night in the first round of the Pierce Brahma Women's Volleyball Invitational in Woodland Hills. The scores were 16-24, 25-22, 25-23, 25-22.

Katelynn Womack had 16 kills and Shannon Friend added 14 with a .414 hitting percentage for the Vaqueros (9-2), who had their six-match win streak snapped. Tristen Thompson made 24 digs and Raleigh McKinney added 12.

SBCC hit .407 in the opening set but only .168 the rest of the way.

Isabella Thompson produced seven digs while Hannah Cantrell had six digs and four blocks.

SBCC will take on WSC rival Moorpark on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
