SBCC will host defending state champion Irvine Valley on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the second round of the Southern Cal Regional women's volleyball tournament.

The No. 1-seeded Vaqueros (24-3) rallied from a 2-0 deficit on Tuesday to knock off Mt. SAC 3-2. The WSC North champions have won five straight and 15 of 16 matches. They're a perfect 11-0 at home this year.

The Lasers (16-5) captured the Orange Empire Conference with a 12-2 record. They've won four straight and 10 of the last 11. IVC swept No. 9 San Diego Mesa (25-15, 25-15, 25-6) in the first round of the Regional, hitting a crisp .459.

IVC is led by Orange Empire co-MVP Kayla Scheevel (204 kills, .302 hitting percentage). Olivia Aguilar and Hannah Matt have 200 and 191 kills, respectively. They're the No. 1 hitting team in the state with a .326 percentage.

SBCC ranks fourth in the state in blocks (243) and No. 5 in digs (1,765). The Vaqueros have held their opponents to a .136 hitting percentage.

Katelynn Womack, the MVP of the WSC North, matched her career best with 21 kills against Mt. SAC and also had 14 digs. Shannon Friend added 21 kills and Tristen Thompson had a career-high 45 digs.

Womack, a sophomore outside hitter from Rio Mesa High, surpassed 600 kills for her two-year career and now has 611. She needs 20 digs to reach 500 in her career.

The game is available on Live Stream on the Vaquero Broadcasting Network with Ryan Graff and Steven Wellbock on the call at 5:45 p.m.
