SANTA BARBARA, Calif – The SBCC women's volleyball team was handed its first loss in over a month on Wednesday, falling to Moorpark in four sets 25-23, 25-14, 8-25, 25-21.

The 17-point SBCC win in the third set win was the Vaqueros' (14-3, 2-1) largest point differential in their last five contests. However, the loss ends their nine-match winning streak dating back to Sept. 8's five-set win at Fullerton. It was also their first Western State Conference loss of the season.

Piper Ellbogn-Petersen led the home side with nine kills, just missing out on a double-double tying a season-high with 12 digs.

Karoline Ruiz (8 kills), Paige Rudi (7) and Lola Bunn (7) all chipped in offensively. Bunn had two more kills than in any other outing this season, setting a new personal-best.

Setter Emma Crabbe (19 digs) and libero Jacelin Mckie (18) combined for more than half of SBCC's 71 digs. That made it two straight matches in which the Vaqueros tallied more than 70 digs, while they've only crossed that mark three times all season.

Crabbe also notched her team-leading eighth double-double of the season.

The Vaqueros will be home again this Friday for a meeting with WSC opponent LA Pierce.
