Kendra Carr has been selected as Athlete of the Week by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table.
The sophomore from Mill Valley, Calif., scored 14 goals with seven steals and seven drawn ejections as the top-ranked Vaqueros (32-1) captured their first Southern Cal Regional title. Carr scored six times in the first half of the Regional opener, leading the Vaqueros to an 11-5 win over Mt. San Antonio.
Carr is No. 7 in the state with 92 goals and 13th in steals with 69.

The Vaqueros were seeded No. 1 for the South Region and will open play in the CCCAA State Championships on Friday at Las Positas College in Livermore. The Vaqueros will meet Sierra (24-6, North #2) in the first semifinal at 10:30 a.m. Riverside (28-3, South #2) will take on San Joaquin Delta (25-5, North #1) at 1:30 p.m.
San Joaquin Delta and Sierra finished 1-2 in the Big 8 Conference. San Joaquin Delta edged the Wolverines of Rocklin 12-11 in the Northern Cal Regional final.
The third-place game will be played on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and the championship will take place at 12:30 p.m.
