Fraser is WSC MVP and All-American for second straight year

SBCC utility player Emma Fraser has earned the aquatic triple crown for the second straight year.

The sophomore from Victoria, British Columbia was selected as MVP of the Western State Conference and was named first-team All-Southern Cal and first-team All-American in women's water polo.

She led the state in goals with 123, breaking the single-season school record. She also tied Rocio Fesembeck's school mark for goals in a game (8 vs. L.A. Valley on Oct. 27) and became the career goal leader with 209. Fraser led the Vaqueros in shooting percentage (60%), steals (50) and assists (37).

SBCC went 30-5 this year, winning its fifth straight WSC title (8-0), then taking second in Southern Cal and fourth in the State Finals. The Vaqueros have gone unbeaten in the last three WSC seasons and have won 32 straight conference games.

Chuckie Roth was named WSC Coach of the Year for the third time in five years.

Kemi Dijkstra, Sarah Parson, Meagan Mckillican and Alyssa Russell-Sadoff were first-team All-WSC. Hana Wigzell and Tori Bray made the second team and goalie Nicole Poulos was honorable mention, along with Kelee Shimizu and Lily Riley.

Parson, who scored 64 goals and made 30 steals, and Mckillican (47 goals, 34 steals) were first-team All-So Cal and first-team All-American for the second consecutive season.

Dijkstra, a sophomore center from The Netherlands, had 54 goals, 29 steals and 23 assists and made second-team All-Southern Cal and second-team All-American. Russell-Sadoff (35 steals, 29 assists and a team-leading 32 drawn ejections) was also second-team All-Southern Cal and second-team All-American.
