Taylor Brooks tossed in six goals and Jayde Maniscalco had a season-high 10 saves on Friday night as SBCC routed L.A. Pierce 17-4 on the first day of the Vaqueros' Halloween Invitational at Santa Barbara High.

The No. 2-ranked Vaqueros (23-4, 6-0) extended their WSC win streak to 38 straight. They're seeking their sixth straight WSC crown in their sixth year of existence.

SBCC led 9-3 at halftime and won the second half, 8-1.

Eight players scored for the Vaqueros. Waverly Golden had three goals and two assists. Bleu Ricketts had two goals, three steals and three drawn ejections while Allison Kay had a goal and three steals.

"I was really proud of Jayde's efforts," said Vaquero coach Chuckie Roth. "She works hard every day and it was rewarding to see her play well and get her team the win. Freshman Veronica Heidke also was able to find the back of the net in the 4th quarter. Veronica has improved greatly and gained valuable time in the field to help our team become stronger.

"Waverly Golden had a great outing with several great scoring opportunities. Her awareness and ability to see the field is greatly improved."

Brooks has 99 goals which is No. 2 in the state and just four behind the leader, Lauren Bellevia of Golden West. They are tied with Kendra Carr for fourth on the all-time Vaquero single-season goal chart. Emma Fraser set the school record with 123 goals last year and Roccio Fesembeck (2014) is second with 111.

SBCC will play its last three regular-season games on Saturday at the SBHS pool, taking on West Valley at 8 a.m.; UCSB's Club Team at 10 a.m. and Cerritos at 1 p.m.
