Carly Seidel ran a season-best 23:52 to take 110th place in the 67th annual Mt. SAC Invitational women's community college race on Friday. Teammate Natalie Linton was 127th in 26:44 on the 3-mile course in Walnut.

"We sent a small group of runners in order to get them an additional competitive experience while resting some others to focus on getting ready for the WSC Championships," said coach Scott Fickerson. "Carly ran her fastest time of the season. It's great to see her running well and the hard work paying off. She and Natalie ran a lot more aggressively today and that was what I was looking for."

Laura Aceves of East L.A. topped the 140-runner field in 17:44.

Mt. San Antonio won the team title with 46 points. Glendale was second at 49 and Canyons (71) took third..

SBCC will compete in the WSC Championships on Friday, Oct. 24 at Arroyo Verde Park in Ventura, starting at 3:30 p.m.
