Three SBCC runners finished with 36 seconds of each on Saturday, helping the Vaqueros to a 20th-place finish in the State Championships women's cross country race at Woodward Park in Fresno.
Christy Chavira took 73rd and posted her fastest time of the season (20:17) on the 5K course. Karla Jaime was 86th in 20:27 and Yuliana Garibay was 108th in 20:53. Bridget Cooke placed 160th in 22:05 and Lizbeth Zebadua took 183rd in 23:27 for the Vaqueros, who were making their fourth State appearance in the last five years.
Glendale won its second straight title with 42 points, easily outdistancing Sequoias' 107 points in the 27-team field. Mt. SAC was third with 141.
Miranda Daschian of Cuesta won the individual title in 17:52 and Alyssa Block of Sequoias was second in 18:05. The women's field consisted of 199 runners.
