SBCC's Tiffany Costello was selected as female Athlete of the Week by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table for the week of Aug. 28 to Sept. 3. The freshman from Coto de Caza received her award at Monday's Round Table press luncheon at Harry's Plaza Café.
Costello was the state runner-up in the 10,000 meters during track season last May. She ran her first college cross country race on Sept. 1 and won the Moorpark Challenge on a 100-degree day. Costello erased a 15-second deficit at the halfway point and broke the 5K course record in 19:46.
The Vaqueros will compete in the Southern Cal Preview on Friday at Central Park in Saugus.
