Vaqueros run in WSC Preview

Two SBCC athletes competed in the WSC Preview women's cross country race on Friday at Legg Lake Park in Whittier Narrows.

Arianna Runyan placed 60th in 26:19 and Ida Hamberg was 68th in 29:58. Moorpark's Sophia Cortina won the 5K race in 17:52.

Glendale was the team champion with 30 points. Ventura was second with 60 and Oxnard took third with 100 points.

"We are continuing to battle injury and illness, so I was happy to that Arianna and Ida were able to race today," said coach Scott Fickerson. "They put in a good effort and I am proud of their performances."

The Vaqueros will train for the next three weeks, then compete in the WSC Championships on Friday, Oct. 25 at Cuesta.
