Scott Fickerson

Scott will be in his 15th season at the helm of Men's and Women's Cross Country in 2023. He was previously head coach at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks from 2001-08.

In 2023, he coached freshman Sage Holter to a win in the women's 5K at the WSC Championship. Holter was also named the SoCal Cross Country Athlete of the Week before going on to finish third at SoCal Regionals and fourth at the CCCAA State Championships.

He guided the women to the State Championships in five of eight years (2009-16), finishing in the top 21 each time. Their best finish came in 2012 when they placed seventh in the State.

Fickerson has his Master's in Human Performance from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and did his undergrad work in Exercise Science at UC Davis. He competed in Cross Country and Track & Field for the Aggies after two seasons at Ventura College.

Born and raised in Ventura, Fickerson now resides in Santa Barbara. When not coaching, he can be found outdoors kite boarding, surfing, running or hiking.
