Shultz, a 6-5, 225-pound sophomore defensive end from Eugene, Ore., was a unanimous choice. He led the APL in tackles (71) and tackles for loss (20.5) and was third in sacks (8.5). In five conference games, he was third in tackles with 35 and first in sacks (7.5) and tackles for loss (12.5). He also had a 70-yard fumble return for a touchdown vs. L.A. Pierce.

First-team choices were running back Will Bayonne, defensive back Tyree Barton, kick returner Jaylon Smith and punter Ray Shay. Smith averaged 29.3 on kickoff returns with a long of 50 yards vs. Hancock.

There were five second-team selections for the Vaqueros -- quarterback Bradley Kleven, wide receivers Jahmal Cornwell and Cyrus Wallace, defensive lineman Matthew Molina and defensive back Nazir Hopson. Hopson was No. 1 in APL tackles with 37 in conference play.

Kleven topped the APL with 700 passing yards in five games and an eye-popping 79.8% completion rate (71-89). Cornwell led the APL with 26 catches for 207 yards and Wallace was fifth with 19 catches for 251 yards and a 13.5 average.

Hancock tight end Jerome Afe was the Offensive Player of the Year and the Bulldogs' Kris Dutra was Coach of the Year.
