Coach Willis started his second stint with the Vaqueros in 2017 and was named Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator in June, 2018. He has also served as the Vaqueros' head coach for men's and women's track & field since June 10, 2020.

He was the head football coach at Cabrillo High in Lompoc from 2014-16. In 2017, he coached the defensive line in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in January and participated in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with the Seattle Seahawks in August.

Coach Willis graduated from Cabrillo High, attended the University of Washington and was part of the 1991 National Championship team that went 12-0. At the professional level, he enjoyed an eight-year NFL career as a member of the Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs.

Don is married to Rebecca Willis and they have a family that includes seven children: Justin, Christopher, Tiffani, Ted, Cy, Gabby and Jae’Lynn.
