SBCC had three duos shoot 68 on Wednesday and the Vaqueros took third in the Clash at the Coast at the famous Torrey Pines North Course in La Jolla.
The format was two-man, best ball and eight schools entered three two-man teams. Canyons took the team title with 196 strokes, followed by Mt. SAC (199), SBCC (204) and Orange Coast (207).
Hugo Amsallem of France and Matty Wilson of Scotland captured medalist honors with a 9-under 63 on the course that hosted a PGA Tour event in January and will host the 2021 U.S. Open.
All three Vaquero teams shot 68 and tied for sixth. SBCC's pairings were Preston Gomersall/Isaac Stone, Igor Haenel/Blake Bornand and Matt Pate/Preston Foy.
