Vaqueros earn a second and fourth in On Your Marks Meet at Westmont

Former Carpinteria High star Solomon Nahooikaika-Anderson made a splash in his first college track meet on Saturday with a second-place finish in the 400 meters in the On Your Marks Meet at Westmont College.

"Solomon ran a great race and placed second with a strong kick at the end, coming through at 52.14," said third-year SBCC coach Scott Santella. "Going into this meet, we were looking to be competitive and show off all the hard work we put into the fall.

"John Esteban Carlos started us off with a PR in the shot put with a throw of 13.46m that placed him fourth. Brett Craft jumped 4.40m in the pole vault, missing the top 10 by 1 centimeter."

The Vaqueros will travel to West L.A. for the WSC Relays on Valentine's Day (Friday, Feb. 14) at 11 a.m.
