Dane Pieper had 13 kills and hit .379 on Wednesday night as No. 3 Santa Monica swept No. 10 SBCC 25-17, 25-22, 25-23 in a men's volleyball match at Santa Monica.
Vecas Lewin added 10 kills and a .412 hitting percentage for the Corsairs (11-1), who've won their last eight in a row. The Vaqueros (3-9) dropped their fourth straight match.
Sean Reynaert led the Vaqueros with 11 kills, including seven in the third set. Jarrett Futch added four kills and three blocks while Stephen Trevitt dug nine balls.
Santa Monica outhit the visitors .228 to .135 for its second win over the Vaqueros in eight days.
"I saw more fight out of the guys but we couldn't put it together at the end of sets," said SBCC coach Jon Newton.
