Four Vaqueros set PRs in WSC Preview

SBCC sent out four runners in Friday's WSC Preview at Legg Lake Park in Whittier Narrows and they all ran PRs.

Jacob Schroder was 21st in 21:28, Yxtzae Enriquez was 30th in 21:51, Ethan Clark was 51st in 23:24 and Mark Hernandez was 64th in 24:57. Drake Nienow of Moorpark won the 4-mile race in 20:04.

Glendale was a dominant team champion, beating Bakersfield by 43 points (41-84). Canyons was third with 93.

"We've been focusing on mental toughness in the last couple of weeks and I think we've made some progress in that direction," said 12th-year coach Scott Fickerson. "We had some good performances today and the guys are fired up to run even better in the WSC Championships.

The Vaqueros will be off for three weeks, then compete in the WSC Championships at Cuesta on Friday, Oct. 25.
