Vaqueros take three of top six spots in WSC No. 5

Pratima Sherpa shot 80 and Alexa Bleth carded an 84 on Wednesday, leading SBCC to second place in WSC No. 5 at Rio Bravo CC in Bakersfield.

Haruka Koda of Canyons won her fourth straight medalist honor with a 76 and teammate Jessie Lin was second at 79. Sherpa was a stroke back in third. Bleth took fifth and Honey Lawrie was sixth at 86, giving the Vaqueros three players in the top six.

Canyons won its fifth straight WSC tourney with 323 strokes and the Vaqueros were second with 343. Citrus was a distant third at 435.

The Cougars lead the WSC race at the midway point with a 25-0 record and SBCC is five back at 20-5. Antelope Valley is third with a 12-13 record.

The Vaqueros will play in WSC No. 6 on Monday at San Dimas Canyon GC and the Southern Cal Preview on Wednesday at Royal Vista GC in Walnut.
