SBCC dropped just two games while winning the three doubles sets on Tuesday and then swept the singles for a 9-0 women's tennis victory over Santa Monica at Pershing Park.

The Vaqueros (4-1, 3-0 WSC) won their fourth straight match and extended their WSC win streak to 18 in a row. The Corsairs are 2-2 and 1-2.

"We dominated the doubles," said coach Christina Klein. "In singles, Maura Mannix won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3. She played calm and had control of the match. Her opponent got up a break in the second set at 4-3 and Maura was able to break her serve to tie it, 4-4, then take the second set 6-4. No. 2 Jamaica Buyse had a close first set and was able to close it out 6-4, then took the second set 6-0.

"Overall it was a team effort today and everyone played their role and executed very well."

The Vaqueros will travel to undefeated Canyons (6-0, 2-0) on Thursday for a first-place showdown at 2 p.m.
