Shoelle Bruhin sprinted to victory in the 200 and 400 on a windy Friday at the SBCC Easter Open women's track and field meet.
Bruhin, a freshman from Switzerland, led a 1-3-5 SBCC finish in the 200. She clocked a season-best 25.81. Caroline Smith was third in 27.08 and Isabella Molony was fifth in 27.42.
Smith placed third in the 100 in 12.83, just one-hundredth of a second from runner-up Hannah Wiese of Cuesta. Christy Chavira was second in the 1500 in 5:07.75 and fourth in the 800 in a season-best 2:26.45.
In the field events, Elisa Poeyry was third in the triple jump (10.17m, 33-4.50) and Molony was fourth in the high jump (1.45m).
The 4x400 relay took first in 4:20.98. Bruhin led off and passed the baton to Chavira, Molony and Smith. The 4x100 relay was second in 51.64.
The Vaqueros will host the WSC Prelims next Friday at La Playa Stadium, starting at 11 a.m.
