Things were quite different on Wednesday night in the second women's volleyball meeting between SBCC and Cuesta in San Luis Obispo.

The Cougars swept the Vaqueros 25-19, 25-23, 25-19 in a WSC North match. Cuesta improves to 13-7 and 6-3 while the Vaqueros fell to 8-12 and 4-4.

On Oct. 11, Cuesta outlasted SBCC 3-2 in a two-hour marathon at Santa Barbara.

Gabi Brewer led SBCC with nine kills and seven digs on Wednesday and Madi Mullins also had nine kills. Bella Brandt added seven aces and nine digs.

The Vaqueros hit just .074% for the match.

"Tonight was a disappointing turn-out from our team and we couldn't maintain any kind of momentum," said coach Kat Niksto. "In games 2 and 3, we put together runs of 5-6 points from the service line, only to give them back later on our own mistakes. Until we can reduce our errors, we continue to make our opponents' job easier."

The Vaqueros will host WSC North leader and 12th-ranked Moorpark (13-3, 8-0) on Friday in their final home match at 6 p.m.
