Annie Ackert tied her season high with five goals and Taylor Brooks added four on Wednesday as No. 2 SBCC doubled up L.A. Valley, 12-5, to remain undefeated in WSC North action.

Brooks, a sophomore from Honolulu, had four goals, three assists, two steals and set a school record with seven drawn ejections. Brooks is No. 2 on the state scoring chart with 79 goals in 22 games and Ackert is seventh with 52 goals.

Zoe Johnson broke Mackenzie Richards' school record with 17 saves in the cage. Richards set the previous record of 15 saves on Oct. 7, 2015 vs. Cuesta.

The Vaqueros (19-3, 5-0) built a 5-0 lead early in the second quarter at Valley Glen and won the third quarter 5-2 to take a 10-4 advantage into the fourth period.

SBCC has won 37 straight WSC games and the Vaqueros are 47-2 all-time in six WSC seasons.

"I was really proud of how we played today," said Vaquero coach Chuckie Roth. "We had moments of greatness but we learned that we need to work on team defense. Zoe had an amazing day, making several huge stops that led to goals at the other end.

"Annie Ackert had great offensive production and Taylor had a few pivotal steals that led to goals. Taylor also drew seven ejections, which is a season high and probably a team record."

The Vaqueros are off until the prestigious Battle at the Beach, hosted by Long Beach and Cerritos, where they will play four games on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 25-26).
