SBCC's new head coach, Alexander Zermeno, has put the final touches to his coaching staff. The assembled staff brings a blend of experience, local connection, and a deep understanding of the Vaqueros' tradition.

**Jaime Alvarado**
With a rich coaching background, Alvarado steps in from Cal Lutheran University, where he served as an assistant coach for the last six years. His coaching prowess doesn't stop there; he's been at the helm at Eagles soccer club and Agoura High School for nearly ten years. A significant accolade came his way this year when he was named the Marmonte League Coach of the Year. Alvarado will be acting as the lead assistant, being Zermeno's right hand man. Coach Zermeno commented on Alvarado's appointment, stating, "I'm excited to bring someone with the experience that Jaime has. He brings a wealth of knowledge and will have a pivotal role with the team this season."

**Juan Zarate**
Zarate, a Santa Barbara native and a former Vaquero, was an integral part of the 2021 Men's team. Not just known for his college exploits, Zarate was a standout player during his high school days. Currently coaching at Santa Barbara High School, he'll be chiefly responsible for the defenders. Zermeno remarked, "Bringing on Juan was a no-brainer for me. Players respect him, want to learn from, and trust him. His growth from player to coach over the years has been commendable, and I'm eager to witness his further evolution in the coaching realm."

**Adrian Gonzalez**
Another former Vaquero who made significant contributions in the 2021 season, Gonzalez was a reliable goalkeeper for the team. He has been nurturing young talents for years and holds a substantial role as an assistant at Carpinteria High. His main task will be coaching the goalkeepers. On his inclusion, Zermeno said, "I'm excited to bring someone like Adrian onto the staff. He possesses a deep understanding of the goalkeeping position, has been mentored by some of the best in the business, and carries an insatiable appetite for learning and growth."

With this formidable coaching staff in place, the season looks promising for the Vaqueros. The combination of experience and passion promises a dynamic and progressive environment for the players, ensuring SBCC's legacy continues to shine brightly.
