Vaqueros Serve Their Way to Sweep vs. El Camino
Santa Barbara, Ca.  The SBCC Men's Tennis team served up a clean sweep against El Camino College 9-0 at Pershing Park on Monday. With singles going 5-0, Vaquero freshman Tim Braun had to endure an epic 1.5 hour first set against El Camino's Hector Uribe. Braun held it together, winning the set 7-6 (7-3 tiebreaker), and went on to win the match 7-6, 6-2. "Tim was impressive, by not letting up, keeping his energy high and staying positive throughout his match," said Head Coach Danny Echt.

In doubles play, the Vaqueros were also able to come out victorious with a clean 3-0 sweep, for an 8-0 overall team win on the day. Sophomore Arnaud Vangenechten and Freshman Daniel Truong set the tone by making very few errors and playing aggressively throughout their match.  "Daniel and Arnaud are both showing great improvements in their games.  Daniel is finding rhythm off the ground and is developing points.  Arnaud is playing consistently from the back, while bringing a variety of shots into the mix," Coach Echt added.

The Vaqueros move to 3-6 on the season and next travel to Glendale for a conference match on Monday, March 27.
